more and more…..click here
so lets explore it…
Last class we have discussed an article “Changing learning and teaching relationships in the educational technology landscape“ …..so we have comment part of it…now..i want to comment about it…
The most interesting part for me is about teaching and learning effectively with ICT….Based on the one of the article in The Star that i’ve read, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said the curriculum should reflect the desire to produce thinkers and incorporate the use of ICT as a means to harness the wealth of information available on the information highway. I think the use of Free/Open Source Software should be enable for this. Why??? it is because to promote the sharing of information and collaborative. Besides, Najib also said that ICT must be part of the student’s living and working culture and he asked schools to find ways to make the Internet easily accessible to students even after school session.
Generally, the following functions of the use of ICT in education are described in literature (SER, 1998, Moonen and Kommers, 1995, Pilot, 1998).
1. ICT as object. It refers to learning about ICT. Mostly organised in a specific course. What is being learned depends on the type of education and the level of the students. Education prepares students for the use of ICT in education, future occupation and social life.
2. ICT as an ‘assisting tool’. ICT is used as a tool, for example while making assignments, collecting data and documentation, communicating and conducting research. Typically, ICT is used independently from the subject matter.
3. ICT as a medium for teaching and learning. This refers tot ICT as a tool for teaching and learning itself, the medium through which teachers can teach and learners can learn. It appears in many different forms, such as drill and practice exercises, in simulations and educational networks.
4. ICT as a tool for organization and management in schools.
Secondly about “networked collaborative e-learning”..In my opinion networked collaborative can helps students more away from dependence on lecturers/teachers. Each individual needs to develop the experiences, know how and skill to access their own learning. This is more like that the skill can be transferred to other lifelong learning situations and context. Furthermore, networked e-learning has focus on student-student collaboration, where student are use technology to learn from and with each other. Sharing of ideas, resources, and experiences are a greater degree of openness in learning process between students themselves, and students and lecturers or teachers.
Hm…ops..so long..that’s all i think..stos here…so any comment or ideas from u guys…
The word “Web 2.0” become known on first conference in October 2004. It shows us the new version of WWW and it most focus on the changes of the software development. This changes happened because to stimulate the creativity, sharing the knowledge and the most important thing is the cooperation between the user. Web 2.0 doesn’t have a hard boundary, but rather, a gravitational core. It is also as a set of principles and practices that tie together a veritable solar system of sites that demonstrate some or all of those principles, at a varying distance from that core.
Below show the different between Web 1.0 and Web 2.0 :
Web 1.0 Web 2.0
DoubleClick –> Google AdSense
Ofoto –> Flickr
Akamai –> BitTorrent
mp3.com –> Napster
Britannica Online –> Wikipedia
personal websites –> blogging
evite –> upcoming.org and EVDB
domain name speculation –> search engine optimization
page views –> cost per click
screen scraping –> web services
publishing –> participation
content management systems –> wikis
directories (taxonomy) –> tagging (“folksonomy”)
stickiness –> syndication
Tim O’Reilly, the leader of the 2004 conference, has classified Web 2.0 into 4 level which is
Level 0: Software that can be used Offline and Online. Examples: Mapquest, Yahoo! Local
and Google Maps.
Level 1: Software that can be function eventhough Offline and it can be upgrade when
Online. Examples: Google Docs and iTunes
Level 2: Software can be used Offline but better used Online Example: Flickr
Level 3: Software that can be used when have connection with Internet. No Offline. All
interaction occurs in WWW. Examples: eBay, Wikipedia, Perbankan, Blogger,
Joomla, and Mambo

If you look for large-audience blogs outside of education, it is not unusual for some posts to attract hundreds of comments. If a large number of comments are expected, one of the various Slashdot-style plugins that allow viewers to rank up or down comments on the page can be an interesting and useful addition.
WELCOME GUYS (“,)
